Quality First Urgent Care Provides Reliability, Results Using Drive-Through Testing

Jun 5, 2020 | COVID

Quality First Urgent Care is now offering COVID-19 testing in a safe and secure drive-through setting.

Our urgent care center first opened its doors back in December, offering immediate, compassionate, and experienced medical attention to urgent care customers in the Burtonsville neighborhood and surrounding areas.

Less than three months later, COVID-19 hit, a pandemic was declared, and uncertainty, stay-at-home orders, and the concept of “social distancing” became the day-to-day reality.

Through it all, one thing became immediately certain – in order to thwart this virus, widespread testing would be absolutely critical.

The key to effective testing, of course, is safety without exposure.

Quality First Urgent Care’s facility provides drive-through services in an outdoor setting, which eliminates the need for patients to enter a medical office.

Our drive-through testing is conveniently located behind our building in Burtonsville Town Square. We also just opened a second testing location in Howard County at the Savage Mill Fire House. Our clinic has an abundance of personnel and PPE available to provide a safe environment for all being tested.

Efficiency is of the utmost priority, with registration available online where patients can upload their demographic and insurance information prior to arrival, significantly expediting the process. Please text #covid19 to 37373 to pre-register.

Our drive-through molecular test implements a nasopharyngeal swab to look for genetic material present in the virus, and a partnership with Quest Labs allows for a 2-3 business day turnaround on results. This testing is the most sensitive, and specific model currently available.

Our clinic is also offering appointment-only serological (immunology) testing, which requires blood to be drawn during an in-office visit. Contact our office for additional details.

Quality First is accepting all insurance for its drive-through COVID-19 testing. Patients without coverage will also be tested with a driver’s license and Social Security Card.

Since initiating drive-through service, Quality First has tested more than 2,000 patients in the last six weeks, with more arriving every day.

Drive-through hours are 8 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Doctor’s referrals and appointments are not required at this time.

Board Certified Emergency Physician, Dr. Pascal Crosley, is also available to consult with business owners on return to work practices, strategies, and clearances, as the state – and the world – take steps toward reopening and reuniting.
